What we dig

• Utility trenches. Water lines to the barn, power out to the shop, conduit runs, downspout and drain lines — cut to depth, bedded, and backfilled in compacted lifts so the trench doesn't become next year's sunken stripe across the yard.
• Stump-hole dig-outs. When a tree is gone, the root ball and the cavity it leaves are still a hazard. We dig out the debris, backfill with proper material, and compact it so the lawn doesn't crater there in two years.

The rock question, answered up front

Murfreesboro sits on shallow limestone, and it doesn't announce its depth in advance. Some yards give you four feet of clay; some give you fourteen inches.
